ATU Prospect CD-ROM

The summer of 2002 was the second year that the Office of Admissions at Arkansas Tech University created approximately 20,000 recruitment CD-ROMs for prospective students. I was responsible for nearly all aspects of the CD’s production from creating and gathering content (video, pictures, forms, etc.) to building the interface and packaging the whole thing.

I used Macromedia Flash MX as the primary software to build the interface to the CD’s contents: Admissions Applications, Scholarship Applications, Campus Living Guide, Virtual Housing Tour, and Undergraduate Course Catalog (which I also produced that year). The CD also linked to the ATU website for the most current information.

I created all of the graphics, most of the content, as well as the opening theme song, a recording of a football chant looped over some synthesized chords. The writing was done in Microsoft Word and photos were edited using Corel Photopaint.

The CD was the size of a business card and housed in a three-panel folded cardstock mailer. I designed this packaging in Corel Draw! with photos and design elements from the CD itself for a consistent experience.

Note: this was originally intended to run from a CD-ROM and not streamed over the internet, so the quality might be lower than intended.
